86^th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2001 – 21A (Educational – Fundamental Right

According to this act Children between age limit 6-14 are eligible for free and compulsory education.

There is also a provision for 25 % reservation for socially and economically backward students in government, private and aided institute.

The reservation is not applicable in private minority institution.

108^th Constitutional Amendment Bill

·        Establish 33 % of Women Resrvation in Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assembly.

·        The bill was passed by Rajya Sabha in 2010 and the bill is pending in Lok Sabha.

According to this scheme, children between 1^st to 8^th standard are elegible for the mid-day meal scheme
